25 Sep Meet Bryanna Walley
We want to give a warm welcome to Bryanna Walley, the newest member of the GraviTeam! Graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Journalism, we are excited to have her onboard as an Account Coordinator and be alongside her steps into the PR world. We also had a chance to sit down (virtually of course) and ask her a few introductory questions, let’s see what she had to say:
How did you get into PR?
I got started in journalism because I was always drawn towards writing, but I didn’t like the news and reporting aspects of the field. I ended up switching to PR when I took an internship after graduating, which I really enjoyed and saw greater potential as a career path. I remember the first PR job I applied for emphasized “storytelling”, I’ve always thought of myself as a storyteller and I found that I enjoyed telling the stories of companies and businesses from different stages as startups to establish industry leaders. Showcasing what they do best, why these companies were founded, and how far they come was very interesting to me.
How have you enjoyed working at Gravitate PR so far?
It’s been different, I never really had experience communicating with reporters in my last position so actually being able to reach out and build relationships has been something I really enjoyed. Meeting with clients is another highlight since I can become more involved and am excited by seeing all the work happening behind the scenes.
What are some things you want to learn?
I want to learn more about creating pitches from start to finish and really driving content creation through different strategies.
What are some hobbies or activities that you like?
Recently I’ve been doing a lot more creative writing and I’ve taken the extra time from not having a commute to write a few fictional stories (I loved writing realistic contemporary fiction). I also used to take contemporary dances courses in San Francisco before everything was shut down, but I’m looking forward to getting back into it.
Favorite movie, book, and song?
13 Going On 30
I really like the Divergent series
“Oops!… I Did It Again” by Britney Spears
Seafood, especially in Italian food and sushi.
Ideal place to travel?
I went to Italy before, but I didn’t get the full experience since I wasn’t old enough to enjoy everything (I really want to try Italian wine tasting) so I would like to go back again.
I don’t like working in loud environments, I’m staying with my family right now and my brother is always on his violin.
A fun fact about you?
I really like playing the Sims series, especially Sims 2 despite it being older (it had more features than the newer ones). I used to make video stories through the in-game characters and practiced video editing when I was younger.
